Delivery Policy

At GKS Builders Yard, we aim to deliver your materials quickly and safely. This Delivery Policy explains how delivery works for palletised goods, heavy items, tools, insulation materials, EWI components, and smaller parcel orders.


1. Delivery Timeframes

Delivery time estimates provided at checkout are guidelines only.

Actual delivery times may be affected by:

  • Courier network delays
  • Weather and road conditions
  • High-demand periods
  • Stock availability
  • Remote or hard-to-access locations

Specific delivery dates are not guaranteed.


2. Delivery Areas

We deliver across mainland UK.

Additional charges may apply for:

  • Scotland Highland
  • Islands and remote regions
  • Postcodes requiring ferries or specialist vehicles

We do not currently deliver outside the UK.


3. Delivery Methods

We use a combination of:

  • Pallet couriers
  • Van delivery
  • Standard parcel couriers

The method depends on the size and weight of your order.


4. Pallet Deliveries

4.1 Kerbside Delivery

Pallet deliveries are made kerbside only, which means:

  • Delivered to the nearest accessible point at your address
  • Drivers cannot enter your property
  • Goods cannot be taken up driveways, into garages, or around the property

This is standard for heavy building materials.

4.2 Access Requirements

You must ensure:

  • The delivery location has flat, solid ground
  • There is enough space for unloading
  • Delivery vehicles (often 7.5t–18t trucks) can access your street

If access is restricted, please notify us in advance.

4.3 Driver Limitations

Drivers cannot:

  • Move goods over gravel, grass or unstable surfaces
  • Move goods up or down slopes
  • Wait for extended periods
  • Assist with manual unloading
  • Remove pallets after delivery
    (Unless a pallet-collection service is specifically arranged)

4.4 Failed Deliveries

A redelivery fee may apply if:

  • No one is present to receive goods
  • The delivery cannot be completed due to unsafe or unsuitable access
  • Delivery is refused for reasons outside our control

If goods are returned to us by the courier, return charges may apply.


5. Delivery Inspection

Please inspect your goods immediately upon delivery.

If anything is damaged, missing or incorrect, you must:

  • Notify us within 48 hours
  • Provide photographs showing the issue
  • Include your order number

We cannot accept damage claims submitted after this period.
