About GKS

GKS Builders Yard was founded by Greg Kwasniewski, a construction professional with over 30 years’ hands-on experience across residential construction, renovation, and external wall insulation (EWI) systems.

Greg began his career on site, learning the trade through manual work and practical application before moving on to full system installations and house builds. Originally from Poland and living in the UK since 2000, he brings a working knowledge of both Central European construction systems and UK site practices.

Materials at GKS Builders Yard are selected and supplied from a contractor’s perspective - based on performance, compatibility, and reliability on site, not on marketing claims.

A Practical Gap in the Market

One of the biggest issues Greg encountered over the years was not a lack of products, but a lack of clear, reliable guidance on how those products should be used together as a system.

In Poland and across much of Europe, EWI systems and façade finishes are often more technically complete, with well-established installation practices, better system compatibility, and a stronger focus on long-term performance. Many of these products and methods are still underused in the UK.

GKS Builders Yard exists to bridge that gap - supplying proven Polish and European products, alongside advice rooted in real site experience.
